What an unusual week it has been in school this week! Thank you to all our families for helping us negotiate the set up around school this week. Hopefully now we are all used to the new pick up and drop off arrangements, things will quickly become the new routine. The children have been super in terms of understanding the measures in place to keep everyone safe and respecting them.

On Wednesday, Mrs Robinson and I were lucky enough to take a group of Year 5 and 6 children to London for the day. We had the most fantastic day hopping about on the underground and taking in sights such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament, before heading over to the Royal Opera House to see the ballet, and finishing off with a visit to the Natural History Museum! We were very proud of our children, who were exemplary throughout, despite a very early start and walking a very long way! We hope to plan more visits in the future to give more of our children this great opportunity.

Next week is Anti-Bullying Week, which is always an important week in our school calendar. This year, the theme is 'Power for Good' which encourages the children to speak out, stand up for others and build a world where kindness wins. We hope you will join in on Monday by wearing odd socks to celebrate the fact that everyone is different, and throughout the week, we have lots of activities and challenges planned to fit with the theme. We hope that many of our families will get involved in our 'Community Kindness Challenge' of which you will find further details below. Let's see how much kindness the Buckshaw Family can create in our local community.

Have a lovely weekend.
