We are very proud of our vibrant and stimulating learning environment in our community school situated on the edge of Astley Park. We are determined to make every child’s life here a rich and rewarding experience so they leave with a love of learning, high self-esteem, pride in their success and ready to enjoy the challenges of life. We believe that young people have an entitlement to be prepared for their world, not ours.
Every child is valued and their unique qualities are recognised, nurtured and celebrated. The relationships we develop with our children, their families, our community and the wider world, enable us to create a warm, caring, happy ethos where everyone is welcome.
Parents are the key to happy and successful primary schools, and here at Buckshaw we endeavour to work together towards providing the very best we can for you and your children. Staff value the support and commitment of parents in helping us raise achievement and maintain standards. Our current parents appreciate the support and assistance we give them – we aim to be effective partners in the process of learning.
We place a great deal of emphasis on values for life; those of friendship, compassion, respect, perseverance, creativity and responsibility. We pay great attention to our children having a clear and distinct voice in our school. Our school moto is Live, Love Laugh and Learn.
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This web site aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.
