Welcome to our Year 3 class page!
Welcome to year 3. Our teacher is Mrs Hartle and our teaching assistants are Mrs Mensforth and Mrs Coulborn. Mrs Mensforth teaches us in the afternoons for P.E, Creative Curriculum, I.CT and P.S.H.E. Miss Sinnot from the School’s Sports Partnership teaches dance on a Friday afternoon just before golden time!
P.E takes place on a Monday and Friday afternoon. Please ensure that your child has full kit, earrings are taken out and hair tied back for safety. Non-marking trainers are optional for outdoor activities.
Homework and spellings are sent out on a Monday and homework is expected back the following Monday. Spellings need to be learnt for the weekly test. Please can you also help your child learn their times tables!
The children read during daily guided reading sessions. A home reading book is for you to share with your child and for you to comment in their reading record. Your child is responsible for changing their book once it has been read to encourage independence.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.
Our reading area is a great place for us to read! We like to wear our special wizard hats and cloaks while read.
In creative curriculum we learnt all about our local area and even went on a walk to Astley Park to look for natural and man-made features.
In our Design and Technology lesson, we learnt all about mechanics and made a moving hand using a simple linkage mechanism.
In science we learnt all bones and made a skeleton using dog bones! Take a look at our posters we produced on Purple Mash for Internet Safety day, it's all about keeping passwords safe! Alfie's online safety poster Chloe's poster We had great fun learning new football skills with The Football Development Programme. We also learnt about the importance of healthy eating and planned some meals for top football players! In Creative Curriculum we made Roman Shields. In Science we have been investigating reflective materials. We love our new class ipad's and used them to do research for our explanation text that we are writing in English.
