Sports Council

Welcome to our School Sports Council page where you can find out all about our intra-school games, the inter-school games competitions and festivals we have taken part in, our active lifestyle provision. What we do

The School Sports Council meets once every half term with a member of staff to discuss upcoming school sporting events, intra/inter-school competitions and festivals or additions we wish to make to our school sporting provision. Pupils, staff, governors and parents/carers are welcome to share their ideas with our School Sports Council. The Sports and Bravo Buckshaw display boards are displayed around our school. This provides the latest updates for our pupils, parents, staff and governors. Look out for the latest team sheets/sports reports that will be uploaded here below on our website regularly for parents & carers:

Current Projects

  • Parents Active Mile – We encourage all the family to join us every Friday Morning from 8:30am till 8:45am to take part in the active mile with their children. Themed music each week and a raffle prize to be drawn at the end of every half term.
  • Play Time Equipment – The children have spoken! A range of new sporting equipment and adult-led activities are provided during break and lunchtimes every day.
  • A Year of Dance – Based on the children’s feedback the children would like to take part in more dance opportunities. Zumba Day and Diwali days have been planned so far.
  • How can we encourage more children to walk or ride to school. This year we are continuing to support the Living Street Walk to School Project and we have planned to deliver Learn to Ride and Bike-ability Level One and Two training for Year 6.
  • Develop young leaders to support during after school clubs, intra-games events and break and lunch time activities. We have planned to deliver young leaders training for the Year 5 children in the Autumn Term.
