Sex Education

Health education is a cross-curricular theme that is taught in all classes. For the younger children it involves life cycles of plants and animals as well as basic rules of hygiene. Progressively through the school lessons will involve diet, exercise etc. Sex education is not taught in isolation but as part of the health education curriculum. The emphasis is on the development of the human body. These are elements of the science national curriculum work that all children are expected to undertake.

When appropriate we talk to the children about aspects of health education that are of a sensitive nature. Parents are kept informed of such meetings and have the opportunity to withdraw their child from these sessions if that is their wish.
