Summer term
Look at all the exciting things we have been getting up to this half term...
Week 1: Last half term we raised money for the school council by selling keyrings. We worked hard on our keyrings and we were very proud of them. We managed to raise over £100! As a treat for raising the most money, we enjoyed ice creams out on the field in the sunshine.
Week 2: This week we have loved learning all about Boudicca and her thirst for revenge after the Romans treated her and her tribe very badly. After we watched videos about her; read about her and listened to the Horrible Histories Boudicca song, we agreed she was a daring, fearless and inspiring woman. We tried to put ourselves into her shoes and learnt her battle speech!
Week 3: We have had a super busy week this week in Year 3! We have learnt about friction in science and conducted an experiment to see which surface created the most friction. On Thursday we enjoyed learning all about VE day and celebrated 80 years since the WW2 victory in Europe was declared. We even got to make party hats with our grown ups from home and have a picnic in the sunshine! To end our week we spend the afternoon developing our clay techniques, including the coil technique.
Week 4: Wow! What a week! The children have made us very proud this week. Their behaviour and attitude to learning whilst dealing with the heat and having special visitors was amazing. We have been able to spend lots of time outside over the past couple of days: we did our computing lesson about a space simulation outside on the benches and we had a man from Lancashire cricket come and teach us some cricket skills on Thursday. He commented on how well behaved Year 3 were and how well they listened - well done Year 3!
